VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
For Teens Throughout the school year, CTK Youth Ministry offers a variety of opportunities to serve our parish family and our greater community. These can be found in our weekly email updates. If you do not receive these emails and would like to sign-up, please email [email protected] Service Retreat Participant: In addition to our smaller events, CTK Youth Ministry takes high school teens on the Good Samaritan Project (GSP), a week-long Diocesan service week each summer. This is a week of sacraments and service that awards service hours to participants. (Please contact your teen’s school to determine whether or not this event meets their individual service hour requirements.) Edge Volunteer Member: Our high school aged teens are invited to help out with the Edge program (Middle School) throughout the year at Christ the King to build parish community and receive service hours on a consistent basis. Teens will help lead Edge programming including small groups and games. Teens should contact their school's guidance counselor to see if this counts toward their school's requirements for service or not. 2 hours of service are awarded per week. For an interest in helping with Edge please contact [email protected]. Confirmation Retreat Leader: Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors are invited to apply to become a Confirmation Retreat Leader! These teens will receive service hours for planning and attending the Confirmation Day Retreats. Volunteers may be asked to prepare witnesses, lead games, facilitate small groups, etc. Contact [email protected] for more details. Nursery Volunteer: Christ the King is also blessed to be a vibrant parish filled with children! In order to minister to the needs of all of our parishioners, large and small, we offer a nursery on select nights. High-school-aged youth that are interested in a consistent service opportunity (not a one day opportunity) may apply to be a regular nursery volunteer! Nursery volunteers will spend time with the smallest among us: from crib to toddler. Volunteers will be expected to care for children and play with their new friends! (Service hours are awarded). (Note, our nursery is a ministry of Christ the King that is entirely distinct from CTK Life Teen. Questions can be emailed to [email protected] ) (Some paid positions are also available for High School aged teens) |
For Adults
CTK Youth Ministry offers a wide variety of programming, from small group events to week-long mission trips. We are always looking for faith-filled adults that would like to joyfully walk alongside our young people on their faith journey! Volunteer Roles:
One Time Commitments:
If you are interested in volunteering in any of these roles, or simply would like more information, please contact Clare Naghdi at [email protected]. Please Note: In order for adults to volunteer in ANY of these roles (except Dinner Donor or Guest Speaker), the Diocese requires each adult to complete a 1.5 hour online course on Safe Environment practices and be fingerprinted at Christ the King for a full background check. We will be happy to assist you in scheduling these prerequisites once you have been selected to volunteer. |
